be wary about the ndash / hyphen war
[edit]Hi. I see that you have moved something based on hyphenation with a comment that things were mis-spelt/wrong. There are many many many uses of hyphenation for dates at Commons, and there is no clear rule that says one is preferred to the other. So probably best to NOT remove category redirects, or move things without leaving cat redirects if you are going to enforce a style that is not part of the style guide. - Hi @Billinghurst, I made this to synchronize the 10th season to the 9 others before here. I guess we agree, that it makes no sense to have one of ten categories with an other hyphen. That's why I created the cat, and realized short after, that this cat already exists - with the other hyphen. To avoid this for future I think it was a good idea to do so. c:Category:Tamires Morena Lima irgendwie passen die Bilder in dieser Kategorie nicht alle zusammen. Also zum Beispiel ist die Nummer 6 hier doch Fernandes (c:Category:Mariane Fernándes) und nicht Morena Lima. Also deine Bilder 1307 - 1310. Auch das erste 1215 passt nicht so ganz. Scheint irgendwie als wäre da etwas durcheinander gekommen.

- Ah, da hatte mein komisches Gefühl wohl recht. Ich habe es allerdings schon vor Jahren aufgegeben, über Namen von Brasilianern nachzudenken. Die heißen doch überall anders. ;-)

Unerwünschte Bot-Bearbeitungen
[edit]Hallo @Stepro, mir ist nur zufällig aufgefallen, dass Du Dich über eine Bearbeitung des Fotos 2020-09-23 Potsdam 1DX 1651 by Stepro.jpg durch HandleCommonsOnOSMBot geärgert hattest. Das tut mir leid und war nicht beabsichtigt. Falls mein Bot generell nichts an der Beschreibung der von Dir hochgeladenen Fotos ändern soll, müsste ich noch eine Art "Blacklist" implementieren. Das ist bisher aber nicht der Fall, so dass der Bot noch nicht erkennen kann, welche Seiten für ihn tabu sind.
Vielleicht zum Sinn und Hintergrund des Edits: Mein Bot bearbeitet (nur) diejenigen Fotos auf Commons, die in OpenStreetMap verlinkt sind. Das betrifft gegenwärtig etwas über 200.000 Dateien auf Commons, die ursprünglich auf Commons keinerlei Informationen zur geographischen Position hatten. Diese Lücke sollte der Bot füllen. Außerdem legt der Bot eine Verlinkung auf das OpenStreetMap-Objekt an - einerseits für einen einfachen, direkten Zugang zu der Info auf OSM (auch für Metadaten, z.B. Öffnungszeiten), andererseits auch als "Quellenangabe" und Möglichkeit zur Überprüfung der Daten. Das einzige Auswahlkriterium für den Bot ist der Umstand, dass eine Datei auf OpenStreetMap (im Attribut image oder wikimedia_commons) verlinkt ist. Der OSMLink dient also nicht nur der Verlinkung, sondern auch als Information über die Verwendung des Bildes auf OpenStreetMap.
Wenn die Datei bereits ein Template {{Object location}} hat, wird das von meinem Bot nicht geändert - anders ist es aber, wenn nur {{Location}} vorhanden ist. Diese Angaben haben eine unterschiedliche Bedeutung (Kameraposition / Objektposition) und bieten auch insofern einen Mehrwert, als aus beiden Angaben z.B. die Blickrichtung erschlossen werden kann. Außerdem kann eine Suche anhand der Vorlagen nicht erkennen, ob eine der Angaben absichtlich weggelassen wurden oder unabsichtlich.
Auch um Irritationen bei Edits der Bildbeschreibung zu vermeiden, bin ich sowieso schon dabei, den Bot dahingehend umzuschreiben, dass die Informationen (OSM-Link und Objektposition) primär in SDC (Strukturierte Daten) geschrieben werden. Dann wird das "Aussehen" der Bildbeschreibung nicht angetastet, aber die Informationen sind in strukturierter Form verfügbar.
Nochmals - es tut mir leid, dass Dich die Arbeit meines Bots verärgert hat - bitte zögere nicht, mir Bescheid zu geben, wenn nochmal etwas nicht passen sollte. - Hallo @Fl.schmitt, vielen Dank für die ausführliche Rückmeldung. Das Problem scheint mir eher ein technisches zu sein, und zwar nicht von Deinem Bot.
- Kurz die Erklärung meiner Arbeitsweise: Ich füge (sofern ich es nicht ausnahmsweise mal vergessen sollte) vor dem Upload nach Commons allen Fotos die Geokoordinaten hinzu, und zwar direkt in Lightroom. Meist sogar direkt beim Import der Fotos nach Lightroom durch ein Template, da ich häufig an wiederkehrenden Orten (vor allem Sportstätten) fotografiere. Das sind nahezu immer die Koordinaten des fotografierten Objekts, die sehr häufig mit dem Kamerastandpunkt identisch sind, von ein paar Metern Abweichung mal abgesehen. Diese stehen dann in den standardisierten EXIF-Daten der Fotos.
- In solchen Fällen halte ich es für generell unsinnig, beides (unterschiedlich) anzugeben, wie im Beispiel hier, wo ich vielleicht 10 Meter vor dem Portal stand. So wahnsinnig genau sind die Koordinaten ja auch nicht, und müssen sie m. E. nicht sein. Selbst in einem Fußballstadion schwanken die Positionen der aufgenommenen "Objekte", also Personen, sportartbedingt um ca. 110 Meter. Bei Motorsportveranstaltungen kann die Positionen auch schon mal um einen Kilometer schwanken, da der Aufwand, hinterher bei hunderten Fotos die genaue Position nachzujustieren, viel zu hoch wäre. Daher finde ich generell eine Genauigkeit von - je nach Objekt - bis zu 100 m völlig ausreichend.
- Das Problem ist nun, dass die Geokoordinaten aus den EXIF-Daten der Fotos auf Commons als "Kameraposition" interpretiert/angegeben werden. Das ist (zumindest in meinem Fall) nicht sinnvoll, eigentlich müssten sie als "Objektposition" interpretiert/angegeben werden. Wie man das Dilemma lösen kann, weiß ich aber auch nicht. Eventuell wäre es sinnvoll, nach dem Upload einen Bot über meine Fotos laufen zu lassen, der alle Koordinaten aus Kameraposition nach Objektposition kopiert. Für die allermeisten meiner Fotos dürfte das passen.

- Hallo @Stepro, so eine Aufgabe (ersetzen von {{Location}} durch {{Object location}}) wäre aus meiner Sicht kein Hexenwerk. Das könnte man entweder durch einen Bot erledigen lassen oder (wenn man unter Windows arbeitet) mittels AutoWikiBrowser. Wenn sich die Edits auf die eigenen Uploads beschränken, braucht es dafür m.E. nicht einmal einen eigenen Bot-Account. Das wäre im Prinzip ein bloßes Suchen/Ersetzen von Text. Beim AutoWikiBrowser müsste man zwar jeden einzelnen Edit manuell bestätigen (macht also nicht Sinn bei einer vier- oder fünfstelliger Zahl von Dateien), dafür hat man ein GUI und kann sich langsam vorwärtstasten. Alternativ könnte man dafür das Skript replace.py einsetzen, das Teil von Pywikibot ist. Das braucht etwas Erfahrung, dafür würden die Edits ohne Interaktion durchlaufen. - Das könnte ich auch mit VisualFileChange machen, das wäre eigentlich kein Problem.
- Generell müsste ich mich aber endlich mal mit einem Botbetrieb beschäftigen, damit mir Multichillbot und Schlurcherbot nicht immer die Beobachtungsliste vollschreiben. ;-) Es wäre ja schon sinnvoll, die SDC vernünftig auszufüllen, wo das automatisch möglich ist.
